Yajnjam

Maharudra Yajnjam conducted 11 times at Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple. Maheswaram temple became the fourth temple to conduct AthirudraMahaYajnjam in Kerala. The ritual Jayabali, very difficult form of worshipping Lord Siva for his physical presence was also successfully conducted at this temple. Sahasra Kalasham, Lakshadeepam, Kodiarchana(16 times) were also conducted at Maheswaram temple. Ashtadravya Maha Ganapthi Homam (done with 10008 dry coconuts) was also conducted 11 times at Maheswaram temple on the day of Vinayaka Chathurthi. Chathurveda Yajnjam, Navaha Yajnjam, Sapthaha Yajnjam, Chandika Yajnjam were also performed at Maheswaram temple.

Maha Sivarathri Ratholsavam

Maha Sivaratri is the main festival at Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple. Mahasivarathri festival starts with kodiyettu. Followed by kodiyettu there is Aghora Rudra Mahayajnjam. Aghora Rudra Maha Yajnjam is a very important form of worship of Lord Siva which will be extended over a period of 11 days to ensure universal peace and prosperity.Devotees participate in this Yajnjam (Yaga) by offering their contribution to this Yaga for the Peace and prosperity in their life. For the prosperity of a human being, one should worship his god by himself. On this basis Kodi Archana is being conducted during Sivarathri festival.

During the festival “Pallivetta” is an important event. When Pallivetta begins during Sivarathri festival, Kerala Police gives ‘Guard of Honor’ to Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi. Festival ends with Arattu to kanjiramoottukadavu as a procession. This procession is rounded off with variety of various temple arts, cultural exhibitions and dances. This arattu procession is being celebrated as Ratholsavam. The golden chariot with Seeveli Idol is carried out of the temple by using rope. This golden coloured chariot is kept nearby the temple. On Sivarathri Day there is Abhishekam of Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi. Plenty of Devotees visit this temple during sivarathrifestival . On Sivarathri day devotees spent their time at this temple without sleeping and chanting ‘OM NAMAH SIVAYA’.

Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam

On the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi) AshtadravyaGanapathiHomam is conducted at the temple by using 10008 dry coconut (Kottathenga). 8 articles including this dry coconut are part of this ashtadravyam. Devotees get an opportunity to offer their contribution of this ashtadravyam to the Sacred fire (Homakundam). Devotees believe that by doing so, with the blessing from Lord Vinayaka all hindrances in anyone’s life will come to an end. This is based on the faith that one should worship his god by himself.

Vijayadasami

By conducting the vidyarambham ceremony of children before Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi , Devotees believe that their children will succeed in their academic and professional career. Vidyarambham is a Hindu tradition observed on Vijayadashami day mainly in Kerala, where children formally start their Education by writing "Om Hari Sri GanapatayeNamah" ( ഓംഹരിഃശ്രീഗണപതയേനമഃ. ) On Vijayadasami day (in every year) Plenty of Children start their education in front of the Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi.

Vishu

Captivating Vishukani is set every year at the Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi temple. Plenty of devotees visit the Temple to see Vishukani and to receive Vishukaineetam from the temple on this auspicious day. The most important event on the day of Vishu is the Vishukkani, which literally means "the first thing seen on the day of Vishu after waking up". The Vishukkani consists of a ritual arrangement of auspicious articles intended to signify prosperity which include rice, fruits, vegetables, betel leaves, arecanut, metal mirror, yellow flowers called konna (Cassia fistula), holy texts and coins. On the same day tradition of giving money called Vishukkaineetam to devotees is carried out by Swamy Maheswarananda Saraswathy.

Chingam 1st

It is the beginning of the New Year of Malayalees. Devotees of Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple come to the temple on the same day for the auspicious beginning of the new year. This auspicious day is observed with special prayers and ceremonies.

Mandala Chirappu

41 days of Mandala Chirappu festival begins from the first day of Vrischikam. Devotees of Lord Ayyappa offer Mandala ChirappuPooja during these days.
