Swamy Maheswarananda Saraswathy

Most of us pray to god only for our own well-being. But a person who prays for the welfare of entire mankind is the real worshipper. This is repeatedly pronounced by Swamy Maheswarananda Saraswathy, the chief priest of Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple. He prays and works for "Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu" which means let the whole world live peacefully- let us share and care for each other. ‘Devaprashnam’ conduced in the temple revealed that around 5000 years back there was a temple at the same place similar to the present Maheswaram Temple which was looked after by a miraculous spiritual monk and that Swamy Maheswarananda Saraswathy is the reincarnation of that miraculous Monk. Swamiji organizes Vedic and Moral classes for children at different places in Kerala. To promote Art and music Swamiji run a School of Art and Music where Music, Indian classical dance, Violin, Keyboard, Tabala are being taught. Swamiji also lead manycharitable activities for giving assistance to Poor and miserable. Charitable activities include digging well for poor and miserable, Providing toilet facility to improve sanitary facilities of poor, Providing study materials to children in each academic year, Distribution of rice, dress and shelter to poor and miserable, Distribution of Sewing Machine, Financial assistance to the treatment of diseases of miserable and conducting group marriage. Study materials are distributed to students every year before school opens. Packets of rice also distributed every year during Onam Celebrations.



About Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple

Maheswaram Temple (Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple - മഹേശ്വരം ശ്രീ ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രം ) also known as Kailash of South Travancore (“Thekkan Thiruvithamcoreinte Kailasam”) is situated at Maheswaram (Chenkal), 26 km away from Thiruvananthapuram city, the capital of Kerala, South India. MahaSivaratri is celebrated with great pomp at this temple. The temple is constructed entirely out of Krishna Stone and wood in the Traditional Architecture of Kerala in temple construction. This temple is constructed in accordance with the Vastu Shastra. Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple is the cradle of ancient Kerala Culture of Temple construction. There exist Sivalinga shaped Shadadhara Parabrahma Temple (Mahalingam) having 64feet height which is a six storied construction based on six Adhara(Chakra). This place is the culmination of service to humanity and service to God by Swamy Maheswarananda Saraswathi. At this temple swamiji welcomes people irrespective of their caste,creed and religion. Swamiji believes in "Manavaseva is Madhavaseva".
